Eleven years ago, John MacLean was asked to bring his excellent organizational and strong leadership skills to join Statewide Remodeling. John gladly accepted the position and was eager to become part of what was then a small successful company. Since then, John has been instrumental in helping the company grow into the largest remodeling company in Texas.

Being Production Manager at Statewide Remodeling brings many challenges. John is in charge of anything that is built in Dallas and Houston and runs all remodeling divisions, which entails overseeing many crews for each division. Knowing how to hire the right managers and relying heavily on them is the secret to John’s success. “Hiring experts in each field is what makes the jobs run successfully”. At the end of the day, making sure that customers are happy is what John’s job is all about.

It was quite a journey for John to get to Dallas since he grew up in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. After getting laid off of a job, John decided to hitchhike around the country. John stated, “It was much safer back then to trust people that offered rides!” John ended up in Utah and New Orleans for short stints until he met someone going to Galveston for a job.  After nine years there, he went back to Rhode Island so his wife, Kathy, could go back to college. A job opportunity brought the couple to San Antonio where John met Jerry Melton of Statewide.

When asked what John is most proud of about Statewide Remodeling, he replied, “Even though Statewide Remodeling has grown substantially, the family feel of the company hasn’t changed one bit. Working here does not feel like a big corporation and Rob Levin and Frank Manzare treat all employees really well”.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his wife and niece and watching the Redsox. John MacLean is a shining example of what makes Statewide Remodeling such a great company to do business with.
